At Smith, we believe in the important role that art plays in a well-rounded curriculum. The PTA sponsors 6 sessions per school year where an instructor from Meet the Masters teaches the students about an influential artist and then the students create artwork in the style of that artist.

Bring the whole family along to celebrate the spookiest season of all at our annual Pumpkin Patch. Enjoy blow up slides, games, face painting or dunk your favorite teacher!

Smith students and families Glow Crazy at our annual Glow Dance Party. The PTA provides a DJ, snacks, and glow accessories to make the night extra fun. No better way to show our glow-ing school spirit than dancing the night away with friends and teachers.

PTA Reflections is a nationally acclaimed student recognition program that encourages students artistic creativity in the classroom and home. PTA Reflections invites kids of all grades and abilities to get involved in the arts and explore their creative voice. We love seeing the amazing submissions from our students!

Whether you are sad or excited for the new school year to start, we are here for you! The PTA hosts a Welcome Back Pancake Breakfast right after drop-off on the second week of school so that parents can connect, meet the PTA Board and kick-off the school year together.

Join our Gardening/4H club. Develop leadership skills and a green thumb while you watch baby chicks hatch and vegetables grow.

Join us after school for our run club. Students meet once a week to work on their endurance and speed then compete at the Orange County?? run in April. Come out and strengthen your friendships and your endurance.

Every grade level gets to participate in an off-campus field trip. These experiences make the year more fun and the learning more memorable.

Our dedicated Yearbook Crew spends countless hours putting together a lovely yearbook to capture all of the students’ wonderful memories. Be sure to order yours and customize your free pages!

As a thank you to all our hard working teachers and staff, the PTA planned a week full of food, games, and even a spa day.

Three times a year the PTA organizes a skate party at Fountain Valley Skate. The classes compete to see which class has the most students attending. The highest attending class gets to keep the skate trophy until the next skate party. At the end of the year the three class with the highest attendance get an ice cream party.

At Smith, we support Red Ribbon Week’s mission to keep kids drug-free. For a week in October, students participate in activities that promote making healthy life choices.

In the Fall, we invite families to get their cozy blankets ready for Movie Night on the field! The PTA selects a family-friendly movie for everyone to enjoy.

Every Spring, the PTA works with Scholastic to organize a week-long Book Fair. The students are always so excited to explore new books, and it is a great way for our school to earn money for teachers to expand their classroom libraries as well.

The PTA brought the BMX Freestyle Team to Smith to teach the students about being good friends and show them some sky-high bike and scooter stunts.

The kids had a blast getting to know the dogs who make up the “Unstoppable Dogs” crew. Their dog-momma came to the school and brought her incredible pets to teach the kids about resilience, bravery and empathy for others who look or act differently than you. It was a winning assembly for everyone.

We now have a wonderful stage in our MPR that can be used for various ceremonies and performances throughout the school year.

Thanks to the generous donations we received during the PTA fundraisers in the fall and spring of the 2024-2025 school year, we were able to help pay for a stunning mural at the 14th street entrance to the school. The art really boosts school spirit, especially for our new TK and Kindergarten students who enter and leave the school at the 14th street entrance.

Every year the PTA invites our veterans to come to the school to be honored and thanked for their service.

This is the first year TK students have been on Smith campus and instead of sending them on a field trip, the PTA planned with TK teachers to bring the field trip to them. Pre Historic Pets brought a tortoise, snake, and tarantula to share with the students.
