Fundraisers
The PTA is able to fund special events, campus improvements, and enrichment programs through the generous donations of families and businesses. We hold a fundraiser at the beginning of each school year, again in the spring, and also organize year-round initiatives that contribute financially to the PTA.

Become a Sponsor
You can support student programs and promote your business by becoming a sponsor for the Agnes L Smith Fall Pumpkin Patch. Your donation helps raise money for educational programs at the school as well as pay for field trips and memorable assemblies. We sincerely hope that you will consider being a sponsor.

Make a Cash Donation
Making a cash donation allows the PTA to avoid paying processing fees and allocates more money towards enriching the lives of the students. We hold fundraisers throughout the year, but donations (no matter how big or small) are appreciated year-round.

Donate to Class Parties
Each classroom has 3 class parties during the course of the school year: a Winter party, a Valentine’s Day party, and an End of the Year party. These usually include an activity (craft or game) and snacks. The Room Parents will reach out to request donations to cover the cost of these parties. The Room Parents collect these donations directly from the parents.

Teacher Wish Lists
Contribute directly to your child’s classroom by fulfilling an item from their teacher’s wish list. Most of the teachers have created an Amazon Wish List that you can find at the link below. Our librarian has also created an Amazon Wish List of books if you would like to purchase books for our library.

Zeffy
We are collecting donations through Cheddar Up, a site that allows us to safely take donations and pay minimal fees. No app download or account creation necessary.

Annually, the Executive Board determines a proposed budget for the coming school year. The PTA President and the Principal also review the budget and collaborate where funds are needed. The proposed budget is then presented to the PTA and voted on. Every month thereafter, the PTA reviews the budget. Any funds to be spent is voted on at the PTA meeting. All checks written are also ratified by the association. By being a Smith PTA member you are entitled to a vote at all Smith PTA meetings. You do not need to be a member to attend the meeting, however you must be a member to vote. You must be present at the meeting to vote.

The money raised by the PTA goes towards various enrichment programs and campus improvements. Some examples of previously funded programs includes Meet the Masters Art program, the mural on the 14th Street wall, assemblies, and field trips. With traditional fundraising, organizations like ours generally retain only 10%-40% of the profit of sales. In other words, a $10 roll of wrapping paper would generate $1-$4 in benefit to your student. With a direct donation, a $10 donation yields $10 in benefit to your student (less credit card or PayPal transaction fees when applicable). For your convenience, you can make a donation via cash, check, or credit card.

Yearbook
Capture your memories with a Smith Yearbook! Each yearbook includes 2 FREE custom pages, with additional pages available for purchase. Purchasing a yearbook is not a fundraiser for Smith PTA. A portion of the money for the 5th grade ads does go to fund the 5th grade end-of-year activities.

Marquee Messages
Celebrate your child with a personalized message on our digital marquee! Whether it is their birthday, they have a big game coming up, or you just want to say “I love you,” a marquee message is a great way to make them feel special.

TreeMachine Initiative:
Donate & Make a Difference!
Donate gently used clothing and shoes to the TreeMachine is a meaningful way to give back.
Operated by USAgain, TreeMachine bins are conveniently placed in communities like ours—including right in front of the office at Smith Elementary in Huntington Beach. For every bin filled, USAgain plants a tree through their partnership with Trees for the Future—and our PTA earns funds based on the pounds of items collected!
How to Donate:
1. Find the Bin
Visit the TreeMachine bin located on the Smith campus, just outside the front office.
2. Prep Your Items
We accept gently used clothing, shoes, accessories, and linens. Please make sure everything is clean, dry, and placed in tied bags to keep items protected.
3. Drop Off Anytime
The bin is accessible 24/7, so you can donate whenever it’s convenient for you!

Spirit Wear
Show your Surfer Pride with Smith Spirit Wear! Students, staff and parents are encouraged to wear their Spirit Wear every Friday! Spirit Wear sales happen once a year at the beginning in October.
Become a PTA Member!

Your participation is crucial to the PTA’s mission of nurturing a supportive community where students and families can thrive both at school and at home. As a PTA member, not only are you contributing financially to the PTA, but you have the ability to cast votes at PTA meetings and influence the decisions being made. You are not required to attend meetings or serve on a committee, but we strongly encourage participation even if you can only spare a few hours.

A PTA membership is $12.40, and must be renewed every year. AHES PTA receives about $5 from each membership. The money raised from PTA memberships goes towards various enrichment programs and campus improvements. Everyone in your family is eligible to register as a member so everyone can be involved!
