Our dear friend and beloved music teacher, Laurie Floyd, was in a skiing accident on Sunday, March 15, 2015 on Big Bear Mountain.

Laurie has touched the lives of countless children and adults with her wondrous gift of music and love of teaching it. Whether it has been at church, school or lessons in her home, her love and energy for music has been contagious.

Laurie underwent 2 surgeries immediately after the accident on her leg and has another scheduled in two weeks. While Laurie recovers, she will be out of work for an undetermined amount of time. Being a contractor for the school district provides no benefits, disability or paid time off to help with financial obligations. Not only will she need to cover regular monthly bills, she also has one son in college to help support and now also needs to pay for medical bills and other associated costs. Laurie has spent her life sharing her gift with others, it's time we all help her. Please find it in your heart to donate any amount possible to help cover medical bills and other miscellaneous expenses Laurie will incur.
