Fundraising

We have two main fundraisers during the school year:

In the fall, we have our family fun event called Pumpkin Patch! It is an afternoon of fun where kids can play games and win prizes, you can participate in a raffle for amazing prizes, and the whole family can enjoy food from great local vendors who support our school. Pumpkin Patch will be on Friday, October 26, 2018.

 

In the spring, we have our Step It Up event! This is a great event for our kids to participate in during the school day. And, the fundraiser is so easy! Parents email their family and friends and receive donations, much like a Jog-A-Thon. Students can earn prizes and all students get to participate in a very fun obstacle course type event, regardless of whether they raised money. This event will be on March 22,  2019 and more details will be sent out in the spring!

Note: If you have more than one child at Smith, you get a special savings for the In-N-Out Party Bus prize package! The total to raise is $600 per family (it is $400 per individual child). This is the only prize package with a family discount. That info wasn’t included on the prize flyer that went home today.

Please sign up to help! We need volunteers to make this a success. (and…this isn’t a spectator event, so the only way to see all the fun our kids are having while going through the WipeOut/American Ninja Warrior obstacle course is to volunteer! Volunteering is easy! It is mostly line control and giving kids high-fives and making sure they are having fun! Thank you for volunteering your time. We are so grateful for your help! Kinder/1st grade is 8:30-9:30

2nd/3rd grade is 9:45-11:15

4th/5th grade is 11:30-1

Be sure to have your child wear socks to school AND bring an extra pair of socks and a ziplock bag so that they can take off their dirty socks after the event, put them in the bag to take home, and wear clean socks for the remainder of the day. Students will have their shoes off during the event and must wear socks!

Students should dress comfortably in pants or shorts and should wear Smith shirts/Navy blue.

 

Be sure to have your child wear sunscreen! We will have water at the event.

We also have a variety of other smaller events throughout the year so that you can support Smith:

  • The Book Fair is the week of October 1-5.
  • We’ll also have a Spring Book Fair at Barnes and Noble on 5/14/19.
  • Each month, we have Smith Night Out dinners where you can eat a local restaurant and they will donate a % of the money back to Smith PTA. Flyers will be sent home in advance of each event.
  • There are many simple ways to donate while you are shopping already, by saving Box Tops, purchasing through Amazon Smile (register at smile.amazon.com), and by registering your Ralphs card online too.
