Dear Smith Families,
This Tuesday was the longest one yet this year! What a stressful week for everyone. Hang in there – Thanksgiving is right around the corner.
PTA MEETING THURSDAY
Friendly reminder: the November PTA meeting is Thursday at 4 pm. Dial into our Zoom to stay up-to-date, including info from the Smith PTA, the Principal Report by Mrs Ashton, and the Teachers’ Report by Mrs Spencer.
This week we are prepping for our fall fundraiser. In lieu of our annual Pumpkin Patch, we will be doing a Read-a-Thon! The challenge will be to read for 20 minutes a day for 20 days. Take some time to download the app this week and familiarize yourself with it. Prizes will be awarded for badges kiddos get as well as other prizes, including reading the most minutes. *HUGE* thanks to Susan, VP of Fundraising, for putting this together.
Shout out to Mrs Krogstad, 1st Grade teacher at Smith! She only needs 5 more memberships to receive $100 toward class reimbursement. Consider sponsoring a membership or two (or five!) and help the class reach 100% membership goal. To sponsor a membership, go to TOTEM.
The winners for Reflections have been announced! Thank you, everyone, for participating, and congratulations to the winners. Shout out to the Reflections Chair, Stephanie, for pulling this together once again this year.
Thank you to everyone who joined our Room Parent Meeting last week! If you missed the meeting, if your class doesn’t have a Room Parent yet, or if you’d like to learn more about what Room Parents do, check out the Smith PTA website.
COME PICK-UP PRIZES
We still have quite a few prizes left from the Halloween Costume Contest. Swing by the office before or after school to pick them up. For a list of winners, click here.
NO SCHOOL WEDNESDAY
Don’t forget, Wednesday 11/11 is Veterans Day – no school.
I think that covers it! Thanks, don’t hesitate to ping me with any questions.
