Red Ribbon Week

Dear Smith Families,

We’ll keep it short and sweet on the PTA front this week – it’s a big week for those of us going back to school, and we need all the brain power and patience we can muster.

Keep in mind that our school has been preparing for this transition and is doing its utmost to follow guidelines and keep our kiddos safe. Let’s take a moment to reflect on everything that has led us to this week and take it one day at a time.

MONDAY: RED RIBBON WEEK KICKS OFF
Today, we’re kicking off red ribbon week. Take some time to talk to your kiddos this week and raise awareness about drugs and the importance of prevention. Thursday is “Wear Red to be Aware” (kiddos wear red), and Friday is “Hocus Pocus, Drugs Aren’t our Focus” (kiddos wear a Halloween-themed shirt or outfit; no costumes, please).

WEDNESDAY: NO SCHOOL
Don’t forget that Wednesday (10/28) is a student-free day, and teachers have professional development.

SATURDAY: HAPPY HALLOWEEN
We wish you a Happy Halloween. *HUGE* thanks to everyone who participated in our Halloween Costume Contest. There were 60+ entries submitted, which is so so exciting. Stay tuned for details on prizes, etc.

As always, thank you for your time and support. Please don’t hesitate to email or call if you have any questions or would like to talk.

Thanks,
Freddie
